Frigel on Plásticos Universales (Chemical)
Frigel cooling solution for barium sulfate industry
The Frigel's partner Coscollola Engineering successfully completed the commissioning of a three-line barium sulfate (BaSO4) for a manufacturer in northern Spain, who manage the storage, transport and dosing of barium sulfate.
The high capacities are guaranteed by the robust pneumatic phase conveying technology and allow to feed three production lines. In this project, the Coscollola Group was also responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of KraussMaffei processing machinery, Motan-Colortronic plastic pellet conveying and dosing systems with a strategic Frigel cooling equipment.
Barium sulfate is a widely used additive by transformers and widely used by plastic transformers for performance on their lines, as a flame retardant, acoustic flame retardant, acoustic and thermal insulator.
It is also a complex product for its correct handling because:
- It has a high bulk density and between 2.1 and 2.7 kg/dm3 is abrasive
- It is hygroscopic
- In its powder form it has a tendency to tendency to compact if stored in large quantities. in large quantities
