Visit by the University of Texas
A delegation of the UTSA to our Florence headquarters
Florence, July 13, 2026 – Sharing the vision of Italian manufacturing excellence with tomorrow’s leaders has always been a fundamental pillar at Frigel. Embracing this international perspective, we had the distinct pleasure of welcoming a delegation of 18 academic representatives from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) to our Florence headquarters this morning, including 13 exceptional students, faculty members, and academic staff.
The field trip to Italy, led by Dr. Jonathon Halbesleben (Dean, holding both the position of Dean of the School of Economics and the Tom C. Frost Chair of Excellence in Business), was designed to connect students with iconic local companies to learn first-hand how global business and industrial production operate. The decision to include the Frigel Group in this prestigious itinerary stems from a keen interest in an enterprise that originated in Florence and has established itself as a global multinational leader, driven by an unyielding focus on two major industrial macro-trends: technological innovation and environmental sustainability.
A Deep Dive into Intelligent Process Cooling
The visit was structured as an intensive, two-hour educational roadmap, highlighting the seamless integration of safety, commercial strategy, and cutting-edge production:
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): The session kicked off with a briefing by Mrs. Maria Letizia Schneck, (HSE - Director RSPP Italy) who outlined the strict safety protocols and green operational framework that govern our daily operations.
- Company Presentation & Global Corporate Vision: Next, Mr. Matteo Gallerini (Customer Solutions Director) delivered a comprehensive company presentation focused on Frigel's international expansion and our advanced engineering solutions tailored for energy efficiency and water conservation[cite: 1, 5]. This session drove remarkable engagement, sparking a highly dynamic Q&A debate with numerous deep-dive strategic questions from the students.
- Manufacturing Site Showcase: Following a brief networking coffee break, the group experienced the core of our operations firsthand, led by Filippo Marinai (Head of Frigel's Manufacturing Site, Italy). During the shopfloor tour, guests observed our high-quality manufacturing standards and the Lean processes used to build our temperature control and process cooling systems.
A Legacy of Continuous Evolution Since 1960
We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the University of Texas San Antonio for selecting Frigel as a benchmark for their international field trip. Since our foundation in 1960, our philosophy has centered on continuous technological evolution. It was an absolute honor to present this international delegation with a concrete example of Italian engineering that successfully bridges peak industrial performance with a profound respect for our planet.
We would like to thank all the students, faculty, and staff at UTSA for their very kind visit and the keen interest they showed.
