Case Story Heyco Werk

Improve the performance of mold cooling thanks to the use of Frigel Turbogel booster units.

Objectives

The customer commissioned Frigel to develop a new central cooling system with an Ecodry 3DK Adiabatic Cooler solution, for the recently built production site in which five presses run 24 hours a day, five days a week.

The aim was to reduce operating costs compared to the current system, which consists of a central air-cooled chiller, and also to end the use of glycol. In addition to the adiabatic cooler, microgel was used for low temperature requirements and turbogel for medium to high temperature requirements.

Challenges

A modular cooling system was custom designed, and it includes the installation of a self-draining Adiabatic Cooler on the roof at a height of 12 m and hydronic units (pumps and tanks) in the production department with a minimal footprint.

The system is designed to be easily expandable thanks to its modularity.
