Ecodry LDK: Four Advanced Cooling Modes
Frigel’s innovative technologies for maximum industrial efficiency and sustainable thermal management in any climate.
Dry technology: The system uses ambient air and high-efficiency fans to cool the process fluid through a finned heat exchanger coil.
Spray technology: Short bursts of water are sprayed directly onto the coils to boost cooling capacity during peaks of high ambient temperature.
Adiabatic technology: Special humidifying pads pre-cool the incoming air through evaporation, allowing the system to operate efficiently even in hot climates.
Hybrid technology: This intelligent mode automatically switches between dry and adiabatic cooling to ensure maximum performance with minimum water and energy consumption.
Industries
Energy efficiency simply means using less energy to accomplish the same task, which is to eliminate wasted energy. There are huge opportunities for efficiency improvements in every industry, be it power generation, gas turbine, transmission grids, data centers, industrial process cooling, metals, Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC), Air Compressor cooling, industrial HVAC.

Passive Liquid Cooling enables a carbon free 350kW Modular Data Centre
Passive Liquid Cooling appeared recently on the crossroad of multiple trends in the data center industry. The growing power of chips and servers requires a transition from air cooling to liquid cooling, but ecological limits and data centers practice need a simple solution with minimal energy and water spending.
With no pumps or drip connections inside LDK Adiabatic Cooler is able to serve all types of Data Centers (colocation, cloud and HPC) the most efficient way with no risk of leakage and no complicated maintenance.
Optimization of water spray system with CFD
To ensure performance and environmental sustainability of products is nowadays fundamental not only for the success on the market but, mostly, for ethic reasons.
Nothing to chance in our nebulization system:
- CFD For optimizing type, shape, direction of nozzle;
- CFD For simulating jet, eone, droplet size, flow, pressure, and water quantity;
- Simutation-driven R&D For proper redistribution of water and effective evaporation .

FAQ
How does the Ecodry LDK adiabatic cooler optimize energy and water efficiency in Data Centers?
The Ecodry LDK operates in "Dry" mode for most of the year, utilizing only ambient air to dissipate heat. It activates the Coolpad adiabatic chamber—which mists water to pre-cool the incoming air—only during high-temperature peaks.
This dynamic, hybrid approach reduces electricity consumption by up to 40% and slashes the water footprint by 95% when compared to traditional open-circuit evaporative cooling towers, maximizing overall site efficiency.
What are the advantages of the LDK system in preventing Legionella and reducing IT infrastructure maintenance?
Unlike open cooling towers, the Ecodry adiabatic cooler LDK employs a closed-loop circuit that keeps the process water perfectly clean and uncontaminated, totally eliminating the need for expensive and harsh chemical treatments.
Because the system runs completely dry for several hours every day, there is no time for bacterial or organic growth to develop. This categorically eradicates the risk of Legionella outbreaks and dramatically reduces maintenance costs.
How does the Frigel LDK's "free-cooling" functionality help improve a Data Center's PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness)?
Dynamic free-cooling takes advantage of low outdoor temperatures during winter or mid-season to cool server fluids without relying on energy-heavy mechanical chillers. With a cooling capacity of up to 2.8 MW per unit, the LDK can handle the entire thermal load for up to 80% of the year in moderate climates. This substantially drops the facility's cooling power draw, enabling high-density Modular Data Centers—especially those using Passive Liquid Cooling—to achieve an outstanding PUE of 1.08.
How long (in general) do Adiabatic pads last?
Typically the longevity of the equipment is predominantly a function of water and air quality, as well as proper operation. With LDK we focused on high quality material such as SS304L for casing, high premium Pads for long lasting performances with minimized maintenance. All in all the design is made for high reliability, if you think you need a replacement.
